Commerce Committee Circulates Consent Equity Draft Ahead of May 21 Deadline
The Senate Commerce and Infrastructure Committee has distributed a working draft of its consent documentation equity recommendation internally, with no contents released. Coalition sources call it steady pacing, not delay.
MONTREAL — The RONAn Senate Commerce and Infrastructure Committee has distributed a working draft of its consent documentation equity recommendation to member offices for internal review, a Committee administrative spokesperson confirmed Thursday, ahead of the panel's self-imposed May 21 deadline for formal transmission to the Ministry of Science.
"The draft is in circulation among member offices and remains subject to revision prior to formal transmission," the spokesperson said, declining to characterize the document's contents.
Coalition representatives, notified through standard parliamentary channels, offered a measured response. "The Committee is pacing itself to meet the deadline, not slipping away from it," one coalition official said.
The May 21 date triggers a supplementary input window closing May 28, with the formal RFP deadline set for June 30.
