McGill Collective Names Richford Library in Forum Post — a First
The student group behind 'Nous Sommes RONA / We Are RONA' broke its pattern of not naming specific communities, offering a quiet public thank-you to the Richford Public Library for its patron note board. Library staffer Colette Aubin-Roy called the mention 'a little overwhelming, honestly.'
RICHFORD, Vermont — For weeks, the Richford Public Library's community board has been quietly filling up — patron notes, handwritten observations, a few drawings — all loosely orbiting the Montreal-based McGill student collective's bilingual podcast series. On Friday afternoon, the collective took notice.
In a three-sentence post to its listener forum, the group behind Nous Sommes RONA / We Are RONA named the Richford library — something it has not done with any other community — describing the accumulated notes as "something we did not expect and cannot quite explain."
Library staff member Colette Aubin-Roy, who has watched the board grow organically over the past several weeks without any formal program behind it, said she saw the post late Friday afternoon. "It's a little overwhelming, honestly," she said, adding that she has not yet decided whether to print it out and pin it to the board itself.
The collective made no mention of Episode Six's production timeline. Forum replies have been warm, and the Quebec border thread — already one of the more active corners of the forum — had added a handful of new posts since the acknowledgement went live.
