RICHFORD, Vermont — A third Richford resident has borrowed one of the public library's offline media cards loaded with the back-catalogue series Nous Sommes RONA / We Are RONA, and this time the patron came in knowing exactly what they wanted. According to library staff member Colette Aubin-Roy, the borrower — who learned about the series from a neighbour — bypassed Episode One altogether and asked specifically for Episode Two, the instalment centred on Montreal's francophone neighbourhoods. In a border town where French is still the language of the kitchen table for many families, a documentary about Quebecers finding their footing inside a new republic may simply feel like a more natural place to start. Aubin-Roy said she now has only one card remaining for loan and is quietly weighing whether to prepare a fourth — a decision that, like much of what she does at the Richford branch, will likely happen without fanfare, carried forward by word of mouth.
